Starring my best friend Cary Pusey. Cary means more to me than stupid words or music can express. Cary and I have been friends for almost 3 decades and most importantly Cary has been there by my side during some of my darkest moments. Cary is my hero. It’s wholly accurate to say that our friendship has saved my life more than once. Cary has Down syndrome, yet Cary is just a normal guy who wants to harass and be harassed by his friends. In fact this is where he and I first really connected: he was teasing me so I teased him back. He would wrestle me, so I would wrestle him back. He would call me names, so, well yeah you get it. Cary is special. But not because of his “disability”. Cary is not disabled, to me, he’s perfect. He’s also a butt-head. He gets emotional and he wants to share his feelings as well as commiserate with his dear friends. Cary loves to dream, dream of being the hero, being the band leader, calling the shots for his favorite basketball team, and starring in a music video. Cary has Down syndrome but that’s not what makes him special. Cary is golden. He is my best friend. He calls me 2-3 times a day and it’s amazing. Also, did I mention that he’s a butthead? Man, I love this guy. The least I could do is wrestle him, harass him, call him names and have him star in at least one music video. And now, Breathe & Release.
